The Wizard of Oz, Youth Edition – Musical Theater Performance Workshop

Directed by Mary Ann Rutkowski
Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness. The Bleeding Heart Academy for Girls presents Their First and Last Annual Christmas Show (TBA) – Advanced Performance Workshop

Written by David Lee White & Kate Brennan
Directed by Lisi Levy
In a last ditch effort to save the financially-strapped Bleeding Heart Academy from bleeding out, the school commissions one-time novelist (and D-list BHA alum) Jennifer Brenner to write its check to salvation in the form of a Christmas fundraiser – an unholy mash-up of the three most popular, high-school plays. But saddled with a drama club that has never performed in public, high school ghosts, donor decrees, and an abundance of Madisons, the yellow brick road to creation is looking more like a crypt. Can Jennifer slap together a brand new play while still satisfying the powers that be? A new play experience available for ages 15 through 20. Audition Required.
