DIRECTORS – YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN AND MARY POPPINS
DESCRIPTION Steel River Playhouse is seeking talented directors for paid involvement in our upcoming productions of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (opening February 7th) and Mary Poppins (opening May 23rd). If you have a passion for bringing stories to life through engaging direction and strong choices, we want to hear from you! Residencies potentially available for individuals that live outside of the region.
Responsibilities – Casting of the production in consultation with the Executive Director and Artistic Producer of SRP. – Overseeing the scheme of production, working in collaboration with the Executive Director, Artistic Producer, design team, and working within the constraints of the production budget. – Attending production meetings where information about production concept, design, casting, rehearsal needs, scheduling, etc., will be communicated among the members of the production team. – Conducting rehearsals for the show, within the schedule agreed upon with SRP. – Attending all technical and dress rehearsals for this production. – Attending the opening night performance and being available during the run of the show to respond to needs relating to emergency cast replacements or other unforeseen emergencies. – Working with SRP’s Executive Director on possible additional performances/presentations for community outreach as needed. Ample advance notice will be given should any of these requests arise.
Ideal Qualifications – Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in theater or candidates who have extensive directing experience preferred. – Strong organizational skills. – Ability to manage personnel and large teams. – Strong writing and verbal skills. – Strong communication skills in diverse, collaborative environments. – Experience and knowledge in integrating diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into day-to-day work. – Ability to work in an environment that prioritizes flexibility, innovation, and efficiency and seeks and welcomes fresh talent and perspectives from the broader theater community. – Ability to collaborate to lead ambitious and inclusive theatrical work.

Mary Poppins Audition Dates: January Rehearsals Begin: March Performance Dates: May 23rd through June 8th
