About The Refinery Workshop

Steel River Playhouse will request submission of new works for its Refinery Workshop, looking looking for full-length, non-musical, unpublished plays that have not yet had a professional production. Plays that have been selected will receive two readings — one in the fall, with panel feedback and a workshop session with a dramaturg, and then a second reading in the spring. One of the plays will also be selected for a full production in Steel River Playhouse’s 2019-2020 season.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS PASSED. Please stay tuned for the staged readings and the announcement of the play which will be produced as a Main Stage Production at Steel River Playhouse in the 2019-2020 season.

Submissions should include, in two separate files: a cover sheet with the playwright’s name, the name of their play, and a brief synopsis; the full text of the play with the play’s title but without the playwright’s name. Please use “Refinery Submission” for the subject line of all submissions. Please submit only one play per playwright.
